Problem when downloading images

Post by sebasimone » Wed Nov 14, 2018 5:51 am

Hi

My name is Sebastian and we're currently testing MicroDicom viewer against an Orthanc server. So far we've been able to connect to the DICOM server and retrieve the names of the patients and other stuff related to their studies that is stored at the server, but when we click on the study to download it , nothing happens. No files are downloaded and there is no additional information displayed on screen. Is this the indented behavior?

Many thanks in advance,
Sebastián

Hi Sebastian,
No, it is not indented behavior. When you click download, the image have to be shown in MicroDicom.
We tested MicroDicom with Orthanc server and it works.
There are two possible reason for your issue.
1. You have to add your computer ip to configuration file of Orthanc server and restart it. Orthanc use only C-MOVE and have to know ip of AE Title.
2. Check your firewall whether is turned on. If it is turned on, check if MicroDicom application have permissions.

If you have questions, you can write on support@microdicom.com

Thanks
Simeon

Hi Simeon!

Thanks for the quick answer! I added the test PC to the configuration as follows

Code: Select all

 "DicomModalities" : {
    /**
     * Uncommenting the following line would enable Orthanc to
     * connect to an instance of the "storescp" open-source DICOM
     * store (shipped in the DCMTK distribution) started by the
     * command line "storescp 2000".
     **/
     "OCMI" : [ "OCMI", "192.168.1.221", 2000]

    /**

I left the port (2000) to the default value. Should I change it to 4242 or 8042?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT;

I changed the port and now Orthanc reports success in sending the files, but I don't see them locally. What I'm seeing is this:

I1115 01:30:04.113705 FilesystemStorage.cpp:155] Reading attachment "72474e0e-d3d7-4e40-b686-c2e857477f58" of "DICOM" content type
I1115 01:30:04.190462 JobsRegistry.cpp:470] Job has completed with success: e30e9451-d854-44c5-8e15-b48f4a7443c9

Hello Sebastian
The port have to be the same that you used in MicroDicom DICOM server option page.
For example I use default 11112 port in Orthanc configuration file and the same port 11112 in MicroDicom(Tools/Options/DICOM servers page - port)

Simeon

Code: Select all

  // The list of the known DICOM modalities
  "DicomModalities" : {
    /**
     * Uncommenting the following line would enable Orthanc to
     * connect to an instance of the "storescp" open-source DICOM
     * store (shipped in the DCMTK distribution) started by the
     * command line "storescp 2000".
     **/
     "MicroDicom" : [ "MICRODICOM", "192.168.1.140", 11112 ]
    /**
     * A fourth parameter is available to enable patches for
     * specific PACS manufacturers. The allowed values are currently:
     * - "Generic" (default value),
     * - "GenericNoWildcardInDates" (to replace "*" by "" in date fields
     * in outgoing C-Find requests originating from Orthanc)
     * - "GenericNoUniversalWildcard" (to replace "*" by "" in all fields
     * in outgoing C-Find SCU requests originating from Orthanc)
     * - "StoreScp" (storescp tool from DCMTK),
     * - "ClearCanvas", "Dcm4Chee" and "Vitrea".
     * This parameter is case-sensitive.
     **/
    // "clearcanvas" : [ "CLEARCANVAS", "192.168.1.1", 104, "ClearCanvas" ]
  },

Hi. I have same problem as topicstarter. A see the patient list. When I try open one of them, I see network activity and I know, that images are sent from server. But it no open on viewer. After that I try open same patient 3-7 times. One of it, the images open.

Still there is a problem when downloading a series of shots. As an example, there are 6 pictures in the series (this is seen in the information in the line with the patient in the list). But time for time it is not necessary. Opens then 2 pictures, then 4, 6 I never saw!

Every time I see that the program downloads images (by network activity), but not every time the window for viewing the image opens.

I ask to help with the decision of a question, I would like to dwell on the use of your software.

Dear Astin,

We have to test it with latest release of Orthanc. Because now we test it with our Orthanc server and everything is fine.
One question: When you select images and click download button, progress is shown. Do you see if current speed is different from 0 MB/s?

Hi Andrea,
We have QNAP with Orthanc in the office and tested it with MicroDicom on Windows 10. It works fine.

You have to check three main steps.
1. Add IP of your Windows 10 to configuration.json of Orthanc in the QNAP.

2. Add your PACS server in MicroDicom.

3. Check if MicroDicom is allowed to communicate through Windows defender firewall.
Type "Allow app" in Start menu and click on Allow an app though Window Firewall

If your QNAP has public IP, we can try to find the problem. You can write us on support@microdicom.com

It solved the problem, I did a mistake in json configuration on the NAS.
For me, it was not claer that I have to add also PC and port on DicomModalities in the NAS configuratio.
Thank You again

Sorry guys, another question:
what if my PC doesn't have static ip? I have to change IP in Dicom modalities each time IP changes?
is it possible to add a range of IP and not a single PC? And if I use a VPN to connect to NAS which shold be configuration of the Dicom Modalities?

many thanks
