Not able to run from CD.

I have a strange situation on a Vista machine (repeated on an XP machine).

I can run MicroDicom from the hard drive and I can run it (through run.bat) off a USB flash drive, but I cannot run it from a CD (either autorun, run.bat or mDicom.exe). The program appears to start, but nothing displays on the screen. The system becomes unresponsive for about 5 minutes and then returns. I am using the autorun package 0.5.4.

I thought that maybe the problem was the the program was trying to write back configuration information to the CD, but the versions that run (hard drive and USB) do not seem to have updated any files.

RUN.BAT has a typo in the second line: the forward slash (/) should be a backward slash (\). You can edit RUN.BAT in Notepad. When I fixed the typo, I was able to run MicroDicom on my CD by double-clicking RUN.BAT. Of course I had to reburn the CD with the corrected file.

AUTORUN.INF has the same typo, in lines 3 and 4. However, even after correcting the AUTORUN.INF file, MicroDicom still did not launch automatically from the CD. I think AUTORUN.INF requires this line:

shellexecute="microd\mdicom.exe DICOMDIR"

rather than:

open=microd\mdicom.exe DICOMDIR

However I haven't tried this since RUN.BAT works well enough for my purposes.

Thanks for that. I will test it and fixed.
