MRI films convert to DICOM

Post by mikesmudge01 » Mon Jan 26, 2015 4:10 pm

Hello

I am totally new to dealing with DICOM data so please forgive my ignorance. I have some printed films from an MRI scan of my head, if I were to scan/digitally photograph them could I use MicroDicom to convert those images to a proper DICOM sequence?

Thanks

There isn't a way to do what you're thinking of doing. MRI data contains hundreds even thousands of image "projections".

So essentially taking your 10-20 tiny little images on a radiograph and scanning them into your computer as JPG/TIFF/BMP images and possibly reconstructing them into a CT dataset isn't possible.
