Overlay settings

Post by jez_griffiths » Wed Mar 31, 2010 3:26 pm

Hi there,

Can you tell me whether it is possible to change the Overlay settings within MicroDicom?

I would like to be able to display different / additional DICOM attributes in the image overlay.

Thanks

For now you can't change overlay settings. But I will make it in future version.

Hi Gero,
You can see patient orientation(0020,0037) in the 'DICOM Tags' dialog(View/DICOM Tags...)
If image has that attribute, it must be listed in this dialog.
If you want and have DICOM images with this attribute, you can send me via e-mail.
I will make test with that image.

Best Regards
Simeon

Sorry, I'm nerving.
from technical point of view you are right, I can see the Patient orientation in the dicom tag list.
But the normal user want to see the position in the kind of left/right, head/feat, a/p or similar directly in the image.
So he can directly see in the image view where the left side of the patient is or so.
Greetings
Gero

Hi, do you still have plans to include the ability to modify the information in the overlay?

In particular, I would like to see the DICOM tag (0008, 0081) "Institution Address", appear just beneath (0008, 0080) "Institution Name".

In general, a completely configurable overlay would be ideal.

Hi simoen,

We are desperately waiting for overlay setting.
Secondly I am unable to see image acquisition date information on the image. I have two images, one is showing and other is not showing.
The one (of XA modality) which is showing date, has following date tags:
0008-0020 StudyDate
0008-0021 SeriesDate
0008-0022 AcquisitionDate
0008-0023 ContentDate
All four having same values.

The one (of CR modality) which is not showing date, has following date tags:
0008-0020 StudyDate
0008-0023 ContentDate
Both having same values.

I guess the tag which is showed on image is not present in CR modality (may be this CR system). But I think StudyDate tag should display information on the image.

Please advise.

Regards,
Zafar

Hi simeon,

I have sent images through email. Hope to hear you soon.

Secondly, just as suggestion, in overlay settings - as a first step - i think some text or config file (editable) should contain all tags & location which need to show on image. This file can be the part of installation package/directory. Once we install microdicom, that file is created in installation path, where we can change, add or remove tags and viewer show those tags on image which are present in that file. Hope you got the idea.

Regards & thanks ,
Zafar

Thanks Zafar,
I received images. It is defect. I will fix it in next version.
Yes, it will be possible to change overlay setting from separate xml file and also from UI. But it won'be in next version.

Thanks.
